It’s been an exciting year of achievements for the Kansas Pediatric Foundation, we are thankful for all of our partners who share the goal of improving child health in our state. When we work together, the impact is greater for children across our state. We are currently collaborating with 653 physicians and medical providers to put books into the hands of Kansas kids, several foundations throughout the state and many individual donors whose contributions help us continue to grow.
The Kansas Pediatric Foundation’s largest program, Turn a Page. Touch a Mind.® (TAP-TAM), added 12 new sites and more than 54 participating medical providers last year. We reached an incredible milestone this year when our total number of books given since 2004 reached the one million mark! The 653 participating physicians and medical providers will give more than 125,000 additional books to Kansas kids this year while encouraging families to spend time reading together each day.
For the very first time this year, the Kansas Kids Fund offered the new Pediatricians in Action Grants. Grants were awarded to projects proposed by pediatricians that will positively impact the health of Kansas kids. Thank you to all who donated to the Kansas Kids Fund through the Kansas Pediatric Foundation for making this possible.
As we look to the future, our goals include continuing to reach more families with the TAP-TAM program, and strengthening the Kansas Kids Fund, which will allow the Kansas Pediatric Foundation to grow to include additional programs that will help Kansas kids reach their full potential.
We know that we cannot accomplish these goals alone, and we will continue to seek collaborations with partners who share our vision. Together we can make an impact that will last for generations in Kansas.
