Each spring all Turn a Page. Touch a Mind.® (TAP-TAM) sites are required to report how many books they distributed to children through the TAP-TAM program during the previous year. We are excited to announce that in 2014 TAP-TAM sites gave out 107,339 new, developmentally appropriate books to children 6 months to 5 years at well-check visits!
This brings our total number of books distributed since 2004 to 527,757 books! We are so grateful to each and every participating physician, site coordinator, and financial contributor who has helped us give over half a million books to children in Kansas.
The impact of these books in the hands of young children will reach far into the future as these children start school with the tools needed to learn to read and have school success.
TAP-TAM has continued to grow over the last several months and we expect to give over 125,000 books to Kansas kids in 2015. Thank you for your support of this important program for our children!
