Kansas Pediatric Foundation
The Kansas Pediatric Foundation is classified as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization by the IRS. The Kansas Pediatric Foundation received a start-up grant from the Kansas Health Foundation to promote literacy to children 0 - 5 years old. The Kansas Pediatric Foundation's main focus is a program titled Turn a Page. Touch a Mind. The ultimate goal is to increase literacy in Kansas by providing books to Kansas children. The Kansas Pediatric Foundation is proud to offer Turn a Page. Touch a Mind. as the first statewide program of this kind in the country.
Campaign Status
The Kansas Pediatric Foundation is proud to report that we have raised more than $1 million ($1,055,000) from Kansas donors and secured the additional $1 million challenge grant from the Kansas Health Foundation.
This $2 million Literacy Endowment Fund will be used to purchase books for the Turn a Page. Touch a Mind. programs operating across Kansas.
The Future
The future is bright for Kansas children. We currently have 20 early literacy sites in 14 communities across Kansas. More than 46,000 books have been distributed in the first three years of the program and we are hearing positive feedback from parents and health professionals alike.
Even though the endowment phase of the project has been completed, Kansas Pediatric Foundation will continue to raise funds so that more physicians can participate in the program.
